A High Court in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, has ruled in favor of a masquerade, Mr. Effiong, who was arrested by the state police for allegedly disturbing public peace during traditional worship rites.
The court declared the arrest unlawful and ordered the immediate and unconditional release of Mr. Effiong, as well as compensation for violating his fundamental human rights and freedom of worship.
