An All Progressives Congress, APC Chairmanship Aspirant in Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Authority, LCDA,Prince Olusegun Kayode Oyeniyi has warned the party leaders over the negative implications of unresolved intra party wranglings.
He enjoined the leaders to beware of the bandwagon effect of a showdy LG primary which may weaken the grassroots base in Lagos and jeopardize President Bola Tinubu chance of a landslide win in 2027.
Oyeniyi who is popularly called Segkay by his teeming political admirers is a very articulate mobilizer with massive grassroots support expressed displeasure over the showdy manners some APC Leaders are manipulating the process of LG screening exercises.
Oyeniyi made the observation while addressing Journalists about the current political realignments going on across various caucus within Lagos APC.
He reiterated that if the intra party squabbles are not properly managed and resolved it may spell doom resulting in an electoral disaster in 2027.
He refreshed the memories of the journalist using the woeful result of the last presidential election released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), where the presidential candidate of the LP, Peter Obi, polled 582,130 votes, while Tinubu of the APC trailed behind with 571,575 votes in Lagos state.
SegKay also clear the air over what culminated into his withdrawal from the Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA chairmanship race after attending the Justice Forum/Asiwaju Solidarity Movement, JF/ASM Caucus screening.
Saying that “the crux of the matter is am a consummate party leader and the Ward ‘C’ Secretary for that matter reasoned along with our leaders. I accepted and aligned with the strategic decision and understanding of our apex leaders in Alimosho JF/ASM over the emergence of Honourable Ladipupo Oluwaloni-Olo as our Chairmanship Flag Bearer.
That was a known factor to every leader of JF/ASM and I wish to advise all other APC Caucus to draw inspiration from Her Excellency, Princess Honourable Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire for her forthright, foresight and unmatched Patriotism”.
He however warned all APC caucus leaders to be mindful in resolving all lingering crisis concerning the LG primary so that they will not deliver a faulty and weak grassroot constituency in Lagos ahead of 2027.
