
The donation of 50 million naira for controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky following his conviction of naira abuse have continued to generate controversy in and out of social media.
Friends and fans of the donors have taken to social media to register their grievances saying they shouldn’t have contributed such an amount to such a controversial person.
A critic said that if they should contribute such an amount of money to a person like that then they are either benefiting from him or have skeletons in their cupboards.
He disclosed that he received donations from Nollywood actors, musicians and other media personalities.
Those who donated to the controversial crossdresser includes Afrobeats producer Don Jazzy who donated N4m, Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen who donated N3m as well as singers Tiwa Savage and Niniola who sent the crossdresser N2.5m and N1m respectively.
Others include Nollywood actors; Eniola Ajao (N6m), Funke Akindele (N2.5m), Tonto Dikeh (N1m), Moyo Lawal (N1m), Tayo Sobola (N1m)
Biodun ‘Omoborty’ Olabiyi (N600,000).
Bobrisky was released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre on 5 August 2024 after serving a six-month term for naira abuse.
He was sentenced to jail by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos after pleading guilty to the charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the crossdresser appreciated those who supported him through his ordeal.
According to the Instagram post, an unnamed ‘God father’ also donated N10m to Bobrisky among others.
This brings the total donations made to the crossdresser to N49M.
