The ruling All Progressive Party, APC, is immersed in fresh controversy as Senator Adamu reportedly tendered his letter of resignation on Sunday night.
Following the controversial resignation, Adamu has said he would not speak on his purported resignation until President Bola Tinubu returns from Kenya where he is attending the Fifth Mid-Year Coordination Meeting.
“I won’t talk about the issue because the president is away’ he said.
However, it was reported Monday morning that the APC chairman submitted his letter of resignation to Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the president.
When contacted, APC spokesperson, Felix Morka, did not confirm the resignation saying, “I cannot confirm anything at the moment.”
Reports claimed that Gbajabiamila could not be reached over the incident.
Before his purported resignation, Adamu had been entangled in series of controversies ranging from financial misappropriation amongst others.
He was a senator representing Nasarawa West before his emergence as the National Chairman of the ruling APC party last year.
He also served as the Nasarawa state governor between 1999 and 2007.
