Fuji King and Olori Omo Oba of Ijebuland, Wasiu Omogbolahan Anifowoshe, aka K1 The Ultimate, has described Nigerian Fuji artistes as bunch of ingrates.
Speaking on different platforms on social media, Wasiu said that despite giving all he has to his colleagues in the music field especially fuji, he has not gained anything from them.
Continuing, he said that all that they (the fuji musicians) are enjoying today is by his efforts. He said, “I registered, Fuji Musician Association of Nigeria, FUMAN, which they are all laying claims to today, the Fuji Repete is my idea even Fuji Opera in which they were paid each time they performed, apart from the registration I also I invested time, energy and money. What did I gain? Nothing.”
The embittered Olori Omo Oba said that when his mother died, there was no support whatsoever from FUMAN. I have helped a lot of them to bury their beloved ones both financially and or otherwise, but they could not even organize an ordinary artistes night for my late mum – that was too bad.”
Amidst all these, his mother died on Saturday 18, January 2025 and was buried the same day according to Islamic rites.
He added that he was also pained that his senior colleague Alhaji Koligton Ayinla aka Kebe N Kwara neither attended nor sent a condolence message to him” I played an active role in the burial of Alhaji Koligton Ayinla ‘s mum, instead of paying me back during my mum’s demise, he was no where to be found.”
Speaking about the allegation that he was fueling the crisis between Wasiu Alabi Pasuma and the Ibadan based Taiye Currency, K1 said “it’s absurd for anyone to think along that line, what I told Taiye is that he should go and apologize to Pasuma because he is like a father to him and he has no basis to disrespect him.”
