Lagos State Unified Local Government Procurement Officers Seek Distinct Work Schedule

All procurement officers in Lagos State under the auspices of Lagos State Unified Local Government Procurement Officers Forum have appeal to the State government to give them more involvement in governance.
Sparking through a communique issued at the end of its year 2022 Procurement summit with the theme ‘Procurement Process The Lantern To Good Governance ‘ held on Tuesday, 6 December, 2022 at the Odi -Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Town Planning way, Ilupeju, Lagos and signed by Mrs Ninlola Balogun-Are.
The forum thanked the Governor of Lagos State Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and those before him since the introduction of the Procurement unit,
Balogu-Are however appealed to the government to upgrade the procurement unit into a department ‘we want a department that is complete instead of being a unit under a department , this will allow us to function properly ‘.
She said that being a unit has been affecting their functions ‘but being a department will make the work easier and will go a long way in fast tracking the work of an average procurement officer in the state considering its importance in the work schedule in both State and Local Government.
While appealing to her members to discharge their duty diligently according to the laid down guidelines ,she advised them to cooperate with the constituted authorities ‘this will enable the government function properly:.
Papers were delivered at the well attended forum by Mr Obafemi Musa Ogunlana , Auditor General For Local Governments, Lagos State ,Hon. Hakeem Adisa Bamgbola , Commissioner 1 Local Government Service Commission , Engineer Subair, Deputy Director Procurement Mr .Ambali Taofeeq, while good will messages were read by Hon.Kamal Ayinde Bayewu fcb , Chairman Local Government Service Commission, Mr.Bamgboye Abiodun Permanent Secretary Establishment , Training and Pensions and others .Engineer Abiola Kosegbe , Permanent Secretary Lagos State Local Government Service Commission also sent a good will message.
Those in attendance are Executive Chairman Odi -Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Ajala Rasaq, Mr Onafowote Fatai ,Director General , Lagos State Procurement Agency Omotayo Shakiru , Council Manager Odi -Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA ,Mrs Bola Ajayi, Director Admin.and Human resources Local Government Service Commission , Comrade Sunday Ogunfowora , President NULGE, Lagos State and others.
