The Coroner’s Court sitting in Ikorodu, Lagos Presided over by Magistrate C.A.Shotobi has ordered the police to investigate a petition earlier submitted by Mohbad alleging assault and intimidation by Naira Marley and Sam Larry , in light of the evidence presented during the proceedings.
Delivering the court’s findings on Friday,Shotobi recommended a criminal prosecution of auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe over the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
She said the nurse acted with gross negligence by administering an injection on the singer without a doctor’s prescription.
Although the court ruled out foul play or homicide in the case, it held that the actions of the nurse were both “unlawful and professionally negligent.”
”In pursuant to section 29 of the coroner laws of Lagos State, this court recommends that the prosecution of the unlicensed medical personnel by the office of the Director of Public Prosecution should commence appropriate prosecution against Felicia Ogedengbe for unlawful medical practice and gross negligence,” the magistrate said.
Ogedengbe had earlier admitted during the inquest that she gave Mohbad a tetanus injection at his residence before his sudden death.
The Magistrate faulted Mohbad’s father for burying him hastily without demanding an autopsy, and criticised the late singer’s wife for opting to treat him at home rather than immediately seeking medical attention at a hospital.
The coroner further condemned the role of social media influencers and content creators, noting that some misrepresented facts about the proceedings in ways that undermined the integrity of the court.
The court also made broader recommendations aimed at improving healthcare service delivery and called for better responsiveness by law enforcement agencies .
The court said it has already granted access for Mohbad to be buried since the first autopsy result came out but it is left for his family to be united and plan a befitting burial for the Late singer .
