Wasiu Ayinde and Merenge
The agelong feud between two top Ibadan, Oyo State based Fuji musician namely Alhaji Rasheed Ayinde Merenge and Wasiu Ayinla Olayori Karachi came to an end recently as Fuji King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall and others top musicians intervened in their crisis.
The crisis was finally settled when Merenge and Karachi celebrated their birthday in Ibadan on Wednesday, 26 and Thursday 27 July 2023 respectively.
PT learned that the organizing committee of event on the instruction of Fuji King Wasiu Ayinde called on the duo and settled the rift amicably.
The first step of the reconciliation was demonstrated when the Fuji Merenge crooner attended the 60th birthday of Karachi on Wednesday 26th July inside the BCOS centre, Ile Akede Basorun Ibadan alongside other Fuji Musicians namely Aare Sir Shina Akanni Aroworeyin Scorpido, FUMAN led by SK Sensation, Sulaiman Adio Atawewe, Alhaji Musiliu Haruna Ishola, Wasiu Haruna Ishola and others.
K1 who was on bandstand on Thursday 27,July during Merenges’s 60th birthday held at the Jogor Centre promised to make up for his absences at Karachi’s event by instructing the FUMAN executives to plan another event for Ayinla Olayori Karachi who was physically present at Merenge’s birthday.
Other prominent musicians that graced the occasion were Aare Sir Shina Akanni Aroworeyin Scorpido, Alhaji Ishola Zico Wonder, Governor Lagos FUMAN, Dhamendra, Sodikoko, Musiliu Haruna Ishola, Wasiu Haruna Ishola, National FUMAN led by SK Sensation, Akanbi Olawale Senator, Adio Atawewe, Taiye Currency and others.
