The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osibajo and the Senior Pastor of Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare join others to pay tribute to the Evangelist (Prof) Obey Fabiyi who turned 80 yesterday.
Speaking during a Thanksgiving service at Decross Church,Agege ,Osibajo described Obey as a philosopher who has fought through life and a man whose music preaches morals ‘ his impact on Nigerian music has continued to grow from time to time.It is our prayers that you see many more years in prosperity and good health.’
Pastor Bakare described Ebenezer Obey as a rare breed whose music inspires him and others ‘sir I draw inspiration from your music and I always used it as reference during my preachings ,I love your music and I always listen to it from time to time ‘
The Thanksgiving service which was anchored by the duo of Gbenga Adeyinka he 1st and Tunji Adebayo was attended by King Sunny Ade,Sir Shina Peters ,Laolu Akins,Dele Gold , Senators Musthapha ,Adeola Yayi,Hon.Yinka Ogundimu,Vice Chairman Ifako Ijaiye Local Government, representatives of Alake of Egbaland ,Chairman Agege Local Government,that of Orile Agege Local Development area, representative of Nigerian copyright commission and others.
