Pentouch A seasoned Journalist and Communication expert Ayo Aluko – Olokun has enjoined Community Leaders to seek More Knowledge and engagage the duty bearers in order to bring developmental projects to thier community.
Speaking duringt a IPC /EU-ACT Project tagged “Enhancing Inclusive Grassroot Development, Through Media Driven CSO Engagement With Duty Bearers In Lagos”, on Tuesday,25,, January 2022 at the Place2Be ,hotel ,Moshalashi Bus Stop ,Iyana Ipaja Lagos Aluko -Olokun said ,the more knowledgeable they (Community leaders) are the better for the community development ” because you have to ask for your rights based on the facts you have at your finger tips through research’
Continuing he said the best way to bring development into any area is to know and engaged the duty bearers such as councilors ,Local Government Chairmen members of House of Assembly and Representative even the Senate based on the fact they have “and do not be timid about it,,be consistent ,meet them and ask constructive questions based on what you know ‘
While highlighting some of the developmental projects as basic Education, Health, security,road network among other things the communication expert who is also the Editor of Nigerian Democratic Report Said people know their right but since they don’t know how to ask for it , developments may elude thier community.
Ayo Aluko Olokun praised the media for thier consistency since independent ,he however advised the community leaders to make the best make the best use of the media as they demand for thier rights.
Also Mr.Abiodun Adeleke who represented the International Press Center (IPC) advised the participants to make the best use of the knowledge they have gathered during the seminar.
