The Acting Spiritual Leader of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Most Senior Special Apostle Dr Gabriel Olayinka Kassim, has arrived Nigeria for the first time since his appointment.
His arrival also came amid preparations for the funeral of the late spiritual leader of the church, Baba Aladura Emmanuel Alogbo scheduled to hold next week.
Baba Aladura Kassim arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, from the United States alongside his wife at about 10am on Thursday.
Also in his entourage were leaders of CSMC New York District.
He was received by enthusiastic church members and district chairmen, led by the church’s Board of Trustees, at the airport’s arrival wing.
The church leader was subsequently led in a convoy to the residence of Baba Alogbo.
On arrival, Elder Kassim was received by members of the late cleric’s family. He also signed the condolence register and interacted with the family, offering words of comfort over their loss.
After the visit, the acting spiritual leader proceeded to the CSMC Kingsland District Headquarters in Sabo, Oko-Oba, Lagos, where he was hosted to a welcome service.
Baba Aladura Kassim was appointed acting spiritual leader following a decision reached at an extraordinary meeting of the church’s Board of Trustees held at His Grace Vicarage, Galilee.
His appointment followed the death of Baba Alogbo on July 30, 2026, at the age of 93.
