Nigerians Groan As Naira Scarcity Persist
Despite the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria that the new naira Notes be spent side by side the one Pt can reveal that the naira scarcity still persists. Investigation revealed that most commercial Banks are not giving out the naira Notes as directed at the counter and the ATM .
Investigation further revealed that bank staff are currently making brisk business with both old and the new naira Notes as they sell to the POS operators at a very higher price.

Our findings revealed that POS operators now charged sum N300 per N1000 depending on the amount needed
Those who spoke with PT complain bitterly that after the approval of the CBN that the new naira Notes be spent side by side the old ones things have changed from bad to worse as cash are not readily available both at the bank and with POS operators.
An old woman who does not want her name in print complains bitterly saying ‘if this naira scarcity persists people may start dying of hunger ‘.
Following the threat of strike action by the NLC , the CBN has promised to make cash available to commercial Banks from today.
