Business mogul Femi Otedola on Monday shared a photograph of himself having dinner with President Bola Tinubu in Paris, France, amid speculations over the President’s health and prolonged stay abroad.
Posting via his official handle, Otedola said: “At a private dinner in Paris this evening with His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu,” while praising Tinubu’s reforms for placing the economy “on a path of sustainable growth” with gains including Nigerian companies on the FTSE Russell Frontier 50 Index, record NGX performance, improved forex stability and foreign reserves at about $55bn.
The photo emerged as Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga insisted Tinubu was “hale and hearty” and on a working vacation, dismissing opposition claims that his extended stay was to cover up health issues. Onanuga said the President has continued to perform official duties from France.
Tinubu, who left Nigeria on August 30 for a three-week working vacation in Europe, travelled from London to Paris where he was earlier hosted to a private dinner by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace to discuss Nigeria-France relations.
The Presidency said Tinubu would return to Nigeria within the week.
