The Chairman, Local Government Service Commission. Kamal Ayinde Baiyewu, has advised Local Government staffs especially the procurement officers to respect their Council Chairmen.
Speaking on Thursday,18 January 2024 at the 2024 Procurement Summit organized by the Lagos State Unified Local Government Procurement Officers Summit with the theme ‘The importance of Procurement Plan In Local Government Administration And Methods of Procurement Threshold ‘ Kamal said that the Local Government is a public office which must be run by a process “everything you are doing must be regimented no shortcut ,if you try it there will be problem with the entire system “.
While advising the procurement officers to put their home training into practice,the Local Government Service Commission Chairman emphasized that funds must not be mismanaged “and in as much as you are doing your job ,your must respect your Chairmen ” .
Also the Director General Lagos State Procurement Agency ,Fatai Idowu Onafowote and Chairman House Committee on Procurement , Hon Olufemi Samuel Apara advised the attendees to be diligent in discharging their duties and to always give in their best at all times.
The Chairperson of all the Vice Chairman in Lagos State Hon.Shade Oba appreciated the procurement officers for their contributions to the development of Local Government in Lagos State,she however advised that they should imbibe the Spirit of teamwork which is the hallmark of any successful government.
Earlier the President Lagos State Unified Local Government Procurement officers Forum ,Balogun -Are Niniola thanked her colleagues for their support with a promise to give in her best at all time
The summit was attended by all the procurement officers in Lagos State , representative of Kosofe Local Government Chairman among others
